RAYMOND MENASHIH JOSEPH for a Certifi-

cate of naturalization under the

British Nationality and Status of

Aliens Act 1914

and

In the Matter of the Statutory

Declarations Act 1835.

I, RAYMOND MENASHIH JOSEPH residing at No.486 Avenue Joffre

Shanghai and carrying on business at No.7 Manking Road in the

British Settlement Shanghai aforesaid do solemnly and sincerely

declare and say as follows :-

On the 22nd August 1912 I became a naturalized British

Subject by virtue of a Grant from His Excellency the Governor

of Hongkong (Sir Henry May) of a Certificate of Naturalization

which was granted to me under the Naturalization of Aliens

Ordinance of Hongkong No.44 of 1902.

That I was then in the employment in Hongkong of the Firm

of Messrs. David Sassoon and Company Limited as Co-Manager of

that Firm in Hongkong and I continued as such until the month

of October 1915 when I was appointed Manager in Shanghai of that Firm I accordingly proceeded to Shanghai in the month of October,

1915 and continued in my said employment as such Manager as afore-

said until the month of June 1916 when I left my said employment

and set up in business in Shanghai on my own account and I now

carry on business in my own name and without partners at No.7
